Robert Bruce and the Spider

Robert Bruce and the Spider

Robert Bruce, king of Scotland, fought several battles to regain his country’s freedom but he fell in a great danger and fled away to save his life. He took shelter in a cave and was thinking how he could get back his kingdom.

Suddenly he noticed a spider which was trying hard to reach the ceiling. It tried again and again but dropped down every time. But it did not give up its  hope. It failed six times and became successful in the seventh attempt.

This sight of the spider inspired the king Robert Bruce. With a new hope the king came out of the cave and went back to his kingdom. He gathered an army of storing men and attacked his enemies and fought against them more seriously. At last he defeated his enemies and got back his kingdom.

However, Robert Bruce realized the importance of perseverance and said, “Failure is the pillar of success.”
