A fox without a tail or, A clever fox

A fox without a tail
or, A clever fox

Once upon there was a clever fox in a jungle.  One day, when the fox was walking through jungle, he fell into a trap. He could somehow get out of the trap but he had to leave his tail. He looked strange without his tail and so he thought and hit upon a plan.

He invited all the foxes living in the jungle in a meeting. When all the foxes came to the meeting to listen to him, he told them that he made a great discovery. He added that they did not need any tail because it looked ugly. He said, “I’ve cut off my tail. Without my tail I feel so free. I can run faster than ever before.”  Then he asked all other foxes to cut off their tails but the listeners were very confused. However, most of the foxes decided to follow the fox.

An old and wise fox could understand the trick of the clever fox and told the other foxes that the clever fox had not cut off his trail but he had lost his tail falling in a trap. The other foxes also could understand the trick of the fox without a tail. Finding no other way, the clever fox ran away from the meeting.
