A Giant and His Garden

 Once  there was giant. He was selfish. He had a large beautiful garden. The garden  was full of soft green grass. Here and there all over the grass stood many colourful flowers like stars. There was a nice in the  garden where the beautiful young children used to play everyday.  But they did not know about the selfish giant who was the owner of the garden. One day they came and started playing in it. Suddenly the giant saw the children playing in his garden. As he  was selfish, he forbade them to play in it. Moreover, he made a big wall around the garden and the children were shocked because they could not enter into the garden. So, Allah was displeased with the giant for his selfish activity.  As a result, the garden became desolate soon and no flowers bloomed in it. At last the giant could realize his fault and requested the children to play in the garden but was too late. The children  never came to play  in the garden . As a result, the garden lost  its beauty and charm for ever. 

A Cruel House Mistress

Once a poor girl named Afia worked in a rich man's house. Afia was a beautiful girl but poor, have to work. The  house master was a kind and honest man who was also kind for her but the mistress was very cruel. She used to scold her now and then. One day while serving tea, a tea cup dropped from Afia's had and it broke. At this the mistress of the house scolded her very much. Afia remained silent but  did not get rid of her hand. She brought a cane and began to beat her mercilessly. Afia  began to cry and begged her pardon. She  said again and again, "Please don't beat me so much. Please forgive me." The cruel lady  was so cruel that she did not stop beating. A  last Afia lost her sense and lay on the floor. However, she was taken to a nearby clinic where she was given medical treatment. Finally, she got back her sense. On the other hand, the police came and arrested the lady. Afia  was saved and was handed over to her parents.

Abdur Rahman, an Inattentive Student

 Abdur Rahman  is an SSC examinee. He  is  not attentive to his lessons especially in English because he is very weak in English. Moreover, he is lazy. So, his preparation in English is not good. A  month  ago before his examination he managed a short suggestion of some important questions on English. He only memorized these questions.He did not practice grammatical items  thoroughly. His father advised him again and again to read English with a good English teacher but the boy  did not listen to his father's  advice. A last the day of the Examination came . On the day he went to the Examination center late, took the answer script and felt nervous. After that , Abdur Rahman got the question paper and went through it at first. But alas most of the questions were uncommon.He  forgot most of his memorised answers and could not write any answer to the point.  Once  a school  named Moheb Ullah was going home boy after completing his class. While he was crossing the road, he saw an old man lying on the road.  Once upon a time there was a king who was very fond of  knowing his future from the astrologer.A famous astrologer happened to stop at his capital on  his way to Beneras. The king called on him to know his future and the astrologer said something unpleasant. At this the king got furious. He sentenced the astrologer to death saying, "A man like you should not live to spoil the peace of the world."But another thought crossed his mind before  the astrologer was removed for execution. Then the king asked, "How long  would you live?" With ready wit he replied to the king  that he would die only a week before the king's death. At this the king  turned pale  and shouted ." Drive this wretch away, let him not come again." The astrologer was saved and  bade the king good bye. He went away saying that he would wait to receive him (king) where the king had been sending him(astrologer).

 Once a golden necklace was lost from a rich man's house. A few servants worked in that house. Naturally it was suspected that anyone of the servants had stolen the necklace. The rich man asked all of them but nobody confessed his guilt. So the  man went to a judge and made a complaint  before the judge. The judge called all the servants but all of them denied the charge. Mother Teresa, a Great Woman in the World

Mother Teresa was dedicated soul. Her original name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. She was born in Mecidonia in 1910.  She was an Albanian by birth but she became an Indian.  At eighteen, she decided to become a nun. She came to India in 1928 to serve the people. She was shocked to see the sad condition of the poor people in the streets of Kolkata. Then she became an Indian citizen. She started her life in Kolkata as a teacher in  a convent college.  She  established 'Nirmal Hridoy' meaning 'Pure Heart'. This home became the shelter for the sufferers. Teresa and her fellow nuns gathered the dying people from the streets and brought them to their home. Teresa began to serve  the poor and the helpless. Her activities spread all over the world.  She received a number of awards. She got the Nehru Prize in 1972, the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 and the Bharat Ratna in 1980.  Mother Teresa died at the age of 87 on 5 September, 1997. A street hawker is a person who sells different things moving from street to street.He is a common sight in towns and cities.He is a poor and helpless person. He usually lives in a slum. He puts on a peculiar dress of different colours. He knows his business well. He often makes peculiar sound to draw the attention of his customers. sometimes he starts singing or dancing. His special customers are children and women. He sells various kinds of things like sweets, drinks, books, pens, medicines, ready made garments, cosmetics, fruits, vegetables etc.He carries his goods  in his hands or over his shoulders. A Greedy Farmer

 Once there lived a poor man in a village with his wife and number of children. He was thinking how he could get solvency.
