Price Hike in Bangladesh or, Result of Market Syndicate

Price hike means an unusual increase of price of essential commodities. Nowadays it is a common phenomenon or incident in our country. The prices of necessary things are increasing by leaps and bounds. There is an abnormal rising in food, clothes, fuel, oil and all other essential items. Now the prices have gone beyond the reach of many people's buying capacity.

There are a number causes behind price hike. Over population is a major cause of it. With the growth of population, more food and other essential things are needed. But  our country cannot produce enough food for its increasing population.

Artificial crisis of food is another cause. Recent years doing syndicate, the businessmen are increasing the price of necessary commodities as they like. The authority tried to control but they are helpless to the businessmen. They lost all of their ethical quality. Newspapers showed a vast amount of onion, potatoes, tomatoes etc.  destroyed for increasing the price. The businessmen were destroying commodities but they don't sell them minimal rate. They need more benefit.

Some dishonest people hoard essential commodities to make a huge profit. This causes a sharp decrease in the supply of commodities in the markets. Besides, money inflation, market syndicate , lack of morality, greed for money, black marketing, smuggling, natural calamities, political unrest, lack of consciousness, corruption, lack of proper management etc, are greatly responsible for price hike/rise.

Price hike is becoming more acute day by day.It has negative impact on our life  and  activities. The poor people and the people of fixed income cannot buy their necessary things. They have to suffer greatly from malnutrition and  other diseases . Besides, people of all classes are suffering more or less from this problem.

It is high time to prevent price hike at any cost. The government has taken some steps like removing tax on imported commodities, monitoring market, establishing fair of things. Money inflation should be controlled. Our greedy and selfish nature should be changed. Hoarding, black marketing, dishonest business and political unrest should be stopped.Strict  laws should be implemented. Proper monitoring system system should be established.

Exemplary punishment  should be given to those who are proved responsible for price hike. Our sense of morality and public awareness should be developed  in this regard. It is also necessary to increase agricultural production particularly food production.

Price hike has been burning question of  the present time in our country. The problem  should be solved without making any delay. The government should take both short and long term measures to remove the causes of price hike.

A Greedy Dog and a Piece of Meat

Once a dog stole a piece of meat from a butcher's shop. He was very glad to have it and thought of a heavy meal at home. He was greedy. On the way there was a small river. Over the river there was a bridge. The river was full to the brim. While the dog  was passing the bridge he saw his own shadow into the water. But he thought it was another dog. The shadow dog also had a piece of meat that was his own meat. But the dog was unable to understand the matter. To have that  piece of meat the dog barked and jumped  into the river. As he opened his mouth his own meat dropped into the water. He tried his best to have his own but in vain. The dog was foolish. So, he lost not only his meat but also his life. The teaching of the story is 'grasp all lost all'.
