Once upon a time, there lived a poor farmer who worked very hard to maintain his family. But he could hardly manage two square meals a day. One day while walking through the field, he found a purse of gold dropped by a passer-by. He picked it up and carried it home. His wife was very greedy and became very glad to see it and advised his husband to use it or at least a part of it for themselves so that they could overcome their poverty.But the farmer was a very honest man and so he did not agree with his wife.Rather he told her that honesty is the best policy and decided to find out the owner of the purse. At last he found the person who lost the purse, went to him and gave him the purse. The owner was a rich man and became highly pleased at the honesty of the poor farmer. he gave him some gold coins as a reward. Selling the gold coins he got a lot of money and started a small business with that money. In course of time he became a rich man. Thus his honesty was rewarded and his wife could release that honesty is the best policy.
