Jute

Jute is a kind of fiber. It is the fiber of a plant known as jute plant. It is our golden fiber as we earn a lot of foreign exchange by exporting it to many countries of the world.

Jute grows well in a hot and moist climate. It grows best in Bangladesh. It also grows in India, Thailand, and some other countries of the world.

The cultivation of jute needs proper care and hard labour. The farmers cultivate the land well. Then they sow the seeds of jute. Within a few days the plants grow up. They attain their full size within four or five months. Soon they grow to a height of five or six cubits. They are cut down and kept under water to rot the fiber of the rotten plant is taken off. It is then washed in water and dried in the sun. Thus jute becomes ready for sale.

Jute is very useful to us. Ropes, bags, sacks, carpets etc. can be made of jute. Jute sticks are used as fuel. They are also used for making paper

Jute is our main cash crops. It helps our country to develop. We should cultivate it in a proper way.
