Abu Ben Adham was a good man. He was very honest and pious. He helped all men and women in distress.People said, "Ask Abu and he will do it for you." People liked him. One night Abu was sleeping in his bed. There was a strange light in his room. He woke up and saw an angel in the room. The angel was writing attentively in a book of gold and was writing the names of the persons who loved people selflessly. Abu asked the angel if his name was there. In reply the angel said that his name was not there. Abu then requested to put his name in the list because he loved mankind and his fellow-brothers. So, he belonged to the groups of lovers of mankind. Hearing this, the angel went away talking down his request. He again appeared the next night. Abu was very curious to know about the names of the list.The angel showed him the list and he found that his name was at the top of the list. The angel told Abu that it was his reward from Allah who is just and fair.
A Rich Man and a Happy Cobbler There lived a happy cobbler who passed his days working and singing from morning till night.A rich neighbor of him was a banker who one day said to him, "How much a year do you earn?"
