Image result for A catOnce some mice were having a good time in the house of a rich man. They always roamed about crying and leaping even biting the children. The owner of the house brought a cat to drive them away. The mice fell in great problem. So they could not move about freely. At last they hit upon a plan to get rid of the cat and held a meeting. The speakers discussed the problem of the cat and made different proposals but none of the proposals was good enough to accept. Then the meeting was about to finish but they could not find out any solution of the problem. Suddenly a young mouse stood up and said, “Let us tie a bell round the cat’s need. Then we will be able to hear him coming and save ourselves in time.” 
Image result for some mice   All the mice praised the idea and thanked the young mouse. But an old mouse thought about the idea seriously, stood up and said, “Dear friends, listen to me. No doubt, the idea is good but who is going to bell the cat?”  But nobody came forward to do this difficult task. At last the meeting came to an end and the mice felt helpless.

                                                              A cook and his master A clever cook and his ready wit A cook once roasted a duck for his master. The roast looked so delicious that the cook could not resist the temptation and ate up one of the drumsticks. When the master sat down to eat, he quickly noticed the missing of the leg and asked him about the other leg. The cook told him that the duck has only one leg. The master was not to be fooled and so said that there was no such thing as one legged duck. The cook insisted that the duck had one leg only. The master was very annoyed. A Greedy Dog and a Piece of Meat

 Once a dog stole a piece of meat from a butcher's shop. He was very glad to have it and thought of a heavy meal at home. He was greedy. On the way there was a small river. Over the river there was a bridge. The river was full to the brim. While the dog  was passing the bridge he saw his own shadow into the water. But he thought it was another dog. The shadow dog also had a piece of meat that was his own meat. But the dog was unable to understand the matter. To have that  piece of meat the dog barked and jumped  into the river. As he opened his mouth his own meat dropped into the water. He tried his best to have his own but in vain. The dog was foolish. So, he lost not only his meat but also his life. The teaching of the story is 'grasp all lost all'.
